Pandemic

This story goes back and forth between the present and the past. Mya is a modern-day girl living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her mom. Her mom has a shop and makes dance costumes. Mya loves to dance and takes ballet at a studio with her friends. One day the classroom teacher announces that the school will close because a terrible virus, called Covid, is spreading through the country. More bad news soon follows. In 1918, Elsa lived in Philadelphia. She lived in the same house as Mya. Elsa shared the home with her mother, father and grandmother. They had come to America from Germany.
