The Story

Twelve-year-old Jessica Oliver's summer is ruined.
Instead of swimming, scrapbooking and hanging out with friends, her mom drags her off to her Grandma Charlotte's at the opposite end of the state.

When they arrive, it's obvious something's wrong. Grandma Charlotte is confused and rambles on-and-on about a riddle. She gives Jessica an ancient 1920's scrapbook and begs her great-granddaughter to solve its mystery . . . to follow its trail of clues. And to find the treasure hidden somewhere in the old three-story Victorian family home.

To make things even weirder, a strange man has rented the top floor of Grandma's house with his rude nephew.

At least the mystery will give her something interesting to do besides the million chores her mom has planned. And if Jessica finds the treasure, her grandma won't have to move.

How is she going to stand being stranded there without at least one friend?
