The Script Sampler

This anthology of 15 extracts provides activities to meet the requirements for short performance assessment in the 2002 GCSE drama specifications. It acts as a companion to Starting with Scripts and supports The GCSE Drama Coursebook, providing a complete portfolio of resources for GCSE drama. The extracts represent the full range of dramatic genres, from Shakespeare to contemporary work. Each sample can lead to a full presentation of about 20 minutes. As well as a short introduction, every piece is accompanied by activities that offer opportunities for practical or written work and discussion: understanding the text; producing the scene; and further development.
