Volume 1 synopsis: Youth minister and pro-virginity advocate Adam Chamberlain believes God wants him to remain pure until his fiancée, Cassandra, returns from Peace Corps service and they can be married. Cassie is suddenly taken prisoner, raped and publicly beheaded, sending Adam down a very dark path of vengeance. On his journey to kill the men who did this to her, he is accompanied by his stepsister, a mercenary he meets along the way and his fiancée's naked ghost (in the guise of an angel). Adam's concept of the world radically changes as he tries to hang on to his Christian ideals and his virginity while everyone around him is trying to tear them away from him.
