Treasures from India

The Clive Collection at Powis Castle in Wales contains some 300 pieces, and represents perhaps the greatest single sampling of the art of Mughal India outside of the subcontinent itself. It was begun by Clive of India, whose military victories in the 18th century marked the first stage of Britain's domination of India.
