Parker Ryan is still grieving over the death of his fiancee. He is also anxious about his mother who has to go to hospital for major surgery. While visiting her in hospital, Parker meets the beautiful Dr Chinzea (Chi) Addams. Although immediately attracted to each other, Parker and Chi both have their reasons for hesitating to seek a new relationship. Parker still cherishes the memory of his deceased fiancee, and Chi is a veteran of broken relationships including one that left her with a young son to care for. As Parker and Chi slowly become friends and then lovers, Parker is haunted by premonitions of something tragic happening to Chi. When Chi has a near fatal car accident Parker begins to believe that all his relationships are doomed.
