Lifelines 23 Supporting Learners with Dyslexia in Workplace Learning
Preview available
Dyslexia is very common. The British Dyslexia Association estimates that 10% of the population is affected by dyslexia, 4% severely. More and more adult learning is taking place outside of the traditional college environment, in or related to the workplace. Whilst this is a welcome trend for many adult learners, it provides particular challenges for learners with dyslexia, and those who support them. This Lifeline focuses on the issues affecting support for people with dyslexia engaged in workplace learning, such as confidentiality and flexibility, as well as suggesting support strategies, resources and assessment tools that may be of use to learners with dyslexia. It is particularly useful for workplace learning practitioners with little experience of dyslexia, or for dyslexia specialists with little experience of workplace learning. Table of contents: * Why does it matter?
