The exonerated is a play about the real life stories of people wrongly accused of murder and put on death row in the United States of America. A story of six average Americans is told simultaneously, interwoven so the audience can see the similarity of all the exonerated victims, revealing a very disturbing pattern within our judicial system. But while the main focus of The Exonerated is the innocent wrongly sentenced to death, it should lead to a much broader examination of our society.
