Originally published in 2000 as an ancillary to accompany another college text, the first edition was so well-received that McGraw-Hill made it available on its own. In this second edition, Rieman is joined by her colleague, Jeanne Okrasinski, as co-author. Specifically written for pre-service education students with a view toward their continued use as in-service educators, this portfolio handbook includes authentic, student-generated artifacts and insights from administrators, teachers, and parents. Issues of classroom management, diversity, communication, planning, standards-based education, and reflection are all addressed in the context of how to convey these important aspects within a teaching portfolio, and during interviews.
