Janie Chisholm doesn't mean to tell lies. It's just that sometimes her stories get out of control - and Janie gets into trouble. No one in her family takes her seriously, and she' not very popular at school. The Janie meets Lisa, a pretty girl whose parents are celebrities. Lisa seems to want to be Janie's friend, but it turns out that she tells lies too -- and these lies hurt. So Janie is thrilled when her godmother offers to take her camping on an island for the summer. She is looking forward to getting away from everything. But when Janie gets an unexpected visit from Lisa it threatens to ruin the whole summer.
