Presents the PRIESO (Encuesta de Prevision de Riesgos Sociales) questionnaire used in the assessment of affiliation to the old-age income security system of workers in Santiago. Reports on opinions and preferences regarding alternative retirement security strategies, perceptions of their own life expectancy, income shocks and contingent risk-coping strategies. Finds that insured persons prefer to invest elsewhere rather than make higher contributions than required by a minimum pension.
