The Cincinnati Reds were born in 1866, and since that time, over four thousand individuals have worn the uniform of baseball's oldest club. This book lists the names of those individuals, along with their uniform numbers when applicable. The names of some of the most storied players in history can be found in the enclosed rosters, as can those who garnered no more than one or two appearances in the big leagues.

Also found in these lists are the names of Reds' managers, coaches, spring training players, instructors, bat boys, mascots, and many others. Ceremonial pitchers and others who wore the Reds' uniform in almost any official capacity are included here. Some of those have been culled from the ranks of common fans, while others have been well-known celebrities from various fields. There have been actors and actresses, singers, executives, presidents, a pope, and even dogs (yes, dogs).

These rosters include all known uniform numbers and are presented in three formats: chronological, numerical, and alphabetical. Appendices provide information on special stories that have accompanied some uniform numbers, as well as minor league camp rosters, a list of Reds' finishes, and more. These are the names and numbers of the Cincinnati Reds, past and present.
