SHANE J. LOPEZ, Ph.D, is a psychologist, Gallup Senior Scientist, and Research Director of the Clifton Strengths Institute. Prior to joining Gallup, he was an award-winning professor and researcher for a decade at University of Kansas's School of Education, where he trained many career counselors. He has published more than 100 articles and chapters plus ten books. As a consultant, he has worked closely with executives of businesses such as PNC Bank, Nationwide, Cerner, Transitions Optical, TD Ameritrade, and leaders at large school districts and colleges and universities. He lives in Lawrence, Kansas, with his wife Alli and his son Parrish, a lively and very hopeful fifth grader who someday wants to have a job he loves.
