In this unconventional and particularly cunning picture book, a humble shoemaker manages the near impossible. When Death comes to call in his black cloak, Colin the shoemaker does not go quietly. With some quick thinking and sweet talking, Colin distracts Death by offering to make him some shoes. Death, completely befuddled, is fitted for sandals and soon after that, for a pair of boots.
