He is taken under the guidance of a Master Swordsman and trained in the ways of Eastern martial arts and set on a path of challenge and honour.
He is presented with a magnificent katana Star Sword (a unique blade forged from the remnants of a meteor) which brings with it a group of trained and dedicated swordsmen. He is also supported by the remnants of a clan of mainly women and a motley, but intriguing set of allies gathered along his uncharted path.
Alexander weaves his way through a tapestry of misadventures, as his journey twists and turns, pitiless battles, and macabre situations, all to defend his country, his family, his people and his honour.
With his country threatened by an invading brutal enemy and with internal politics dividing their efforts in defence, again the survival of his people and country rests on Alexander’s shoulders. Many fine and brave warriors are drawn in to stand beside him to share his yoke.
Some friends become his enemies and his enemies become his friends, as he forges on through life’s mysteries and obstacles, armed only with his blade, reliance on his close associates and self-assurance, all the time battling with the notion in his head, that the Fates are toying with his life and happiness.
‘In the Heart the Flame’ is the second book in a series of novels that follows Alexander, from being an insecure young man, through his maturity as he develops and fights his own demons, as he struggles against the overwhelming odds and relentless pressure of the challenges that the Fates, throw in his path.
