Analyses the domestic and international environments within which the trade, finance and development policies of Costa Rica, Singapore and Jamaica are implemented. It assesses the extent to which democracy is conducive to economic growth and development, the prevalence of market controls, and how foreign economic policies influence the conditions and extent of external economic interaction.
