This document examines the prospects for food demand, supply, and trade in the 1990s; national agricultural policies in both the developed and the developing countries and their implications for trade; the impact of the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement on Canadian agriculture; and the progress being made toward liberalized agricultural trade in the Uruguay Round.
