Beginner's Breath

At the end of October 2023, Sarah J. Hull started learning glassblowing to better understand the material properties of glass in service of the start of an artwork that merges textiles and glass. This book grew out of her process of learning to blow glass. Over the span of 130+ pages and through photographs, illustrations, and text, this linen-covered hardback book documents the 100 "Cupforms" [vessels created with the intent of approaching the classic aesthetic and function of a cup] she created over the span of 80 hours in a Baltimore, Maryland hot shop.
