Descendants of Henry Hitt of Woodbury, CT Arriving in America 1665 to Include Thomas Hett of Massachusetts & Some Descendants of James Hitt of Rhode Island

Henry Hitt was born about 1648 in Devonshire, England, and immigrated in 1665 aboard the ship "Philip". On 8 Jan 1673, he married Sarah Bassett in Stratford, Fairfield, Connecticut. He died in 1689 in Woodbury, Litchfield, Connecticut. She died in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut in 1705/6. Their children were Sarah, Margaret, Henry, John, Amy and James. Their descendants live throughout Connecticut, New York, Vermont, and include the surnames of Babcock, Fuller, Hunter, Shaver, Whedon and others.
