This study considers Thomas de Quincey and his critical engagement with Coleridge, Wordsworth, Burke and Kant. The author brings de Quincey's politics to the fore, considers de Quincey's lesser-known political writings and proposes the influence of Coleridgean politics in terms of De Quincey's unusual faith in the French revolution.
