Spanish-American War

The Spanish-American War of 1898 is written in the history of the United States as a symbol of the courage of soldiers and the incompetence of their commanders. San Juan, El Caney, Manila, and Santiago have passed into the hall of fame of the American armed forces along with Saratoga and Yorktown, New Orleans and the Alamo, Gettysburg and Vicksburg, Normandy and the Ardennes, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.
