The Canadian Climate Centre has funded a number of studies to investigate the potential impacts of climate warming. This publication is a summary report of the second in a series of Canada/USA symposia dealing with the implications of climate change. Specifically, the purpose of the symposium was to: identify the potential consequences of global climate change for the forests of the Pacific Northwest; identify the future role and relative contribution of the Pacific Northwest forests in the balance of carbon, moisture and energy exchange with the atmosphere; and develop recommendations for Pacific Northwest forest management strategies and policy options for responding to global climate change.
