Kent's Bloodline contains stories of Kent's family in the 19th and 20th centuries. There is the story of a mother snatching her son from the jaws of death, and there is the story of a man divorcing his wife and, soon thereafter, marrying two teenage girls on the same day. Kent's ancestors were Mormons. The origin and growth of the Church are interwoven with the stories of Kent's family in the sense that, as directed by the Church, his ancestors participated in marrying more than once, proselytizing, colonizing, and praying for help in time of need. And there are two chapters that reveal the response of Kent's kids to this background.
