The gender-related personality traits of agency, communion, unmitigated agency (UA), and unmitigated communion (UC) (as measured by a modified version of the Extended Personal Attributes Questionnaire) predict a wide array of psychosocial health outcomes in nonclinical and medical populations. Because a substantial minority of women experience difficulties in psychosocial adjustment after being diagnosed with breast cancer, the present study examined the effects of these personality traits on emotional and interpersonal well-being (as assessed by the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy scale - Breast (FACT-B), the Profile of Mood States (POMS), and the Social Adjustment Scale - Self-Report (SAS-SR)),
