On May 25, 2009, residents of Powell, Wyoming, celebrated the centennial of their town's founding. Within 100 years, many changes occurred in this community. Homesteaders irrigated the arid lands surrounding Powell, transforming the barren landscape into fertile farmlands. The town itself evolved from a US Reclamation Service labor camp, containing a handful of small dwellings and stores, into a more substantial community. Today, residents honor Powell's traditions and history, which continue to shape the town's civic pride and future development.
